*peeks in*

Uhhhhh hi everyone? I kinda forgot that I left this place running ^^; It's really nice to see that this silly thing still gets views. 35k total views??? Jeebus. Thank you ;v;

As for where I've been since 2015, SCAD got the better of me and I really didn't have time to keep up with Dragon's Keep. And then I tried to start Reliquary and that didn't work either. For the time being, I have a few new comics I'm working on! Cal on ComicFury for one and Penguin Quest, a 800 page adventure comic about wizard penguins, is in the works to start February-March 2019 when Cal ends. Reliquary is also getting scripted on properly and might start around 2020-2021.

Unfortunately, Dragon's Keep is still on hiatus and probably won't come back for another 10-15 years, if at all. I still really love these characters and this story and want to come back to them in the future when I can do their story justice! In the meantime, if y'all still enjoy this, check out my new comic Cal over on ComicFury at Cal.cfw.me! (Not a hyperlink, y'all will need to copy and paste it in)

Thank you for the continued support! I love you all and hope to see all of y'all again real soon!

xoxo –Lu

Yet another plan of action

I know I keep coming up with plans to try and tackle getting stuff done and failing but I think this one should work.

I have finally figured out why I have such a hard time sticking to an update schedule. Ive said this reason aloud MULTIPLE times at school in my comic classes and to comic related people and it only just occurred to me. I dont want to draw comics for a living. I really dont. I also cannot handle the strict deadlines that come with drawing comics for a living. I can barely handle the deadlines that come with the two or three comic pages.

For me, these comics that I draw are just a hobby not a job and even though I dont want to draw comics for a living I still imposed deadlines for myself. All that has managed to do is give me a slow and tired death.

Additionally, I got too excited about Dragons Keep and Reliquary and started them before I was really ready to start them. This only served to cause stress and rushed pages that arent even complete.

As such, Im removing the deadlines entirely. Ill update whenever I get a page done :) That takes pressure off of me and allows me to make things that I can sell to hopefully make a little money while Im at SCAD. I love the comics I work on and I love the characters but I cant keep letting them run my life.

The Reliquary page on October 3 will be the last scheduled update for that comic. My focus will then be primarily on finishing Book 1 for Dragons Keep so that it can be ready for print on Lulu.

I hope each of you who reads this and reads the comics understands my reasoning behind this post and will continue to stick around for the future updates :)

ALSO, in addition to things I'll be doing, once I've set it up I'll be moving all extra comic art and stuff over to a DeviantArt account that will be designated for just comic related things like references and doodles and stuff. Just a warning before stuff poofs from this site.

Future plan of action concerning updates

To try to keep things short and sweet (and relatively organized) I'm going to type this up as a series of bullet-points. Thanks again for taking note of this and reading Dragon's Keep! Please leave feedback on what you think and maybe even what things you'd like to see as merchandise.

• Point 1: Dragon's Keep will go on temporary hiatus when Reliquary starts in August. I plan on trading off on which comic I work on at the end of each quarter/the start of the next.

°The order is:
—Fall quarter (Mid-September to mid-November): Reliquary
—Winter break (Mid-November to just after New Years): Dragon's Keep
—Winter quarter (January to mid-March): Reliquary
—Spring quarter (Mid-March to the end of May): Dragon's Keep
—Summer break (June to mid-September): My break. No comics at all.

• Point 2: Summer break is my time off from all this to rest my wrist. I'll still drop by both sites with stuff I'm working on (which will be taken down when the comics come back up)

• Point 3: "Off comics" will still be worked on during hiatus in my spare time. This work will mainly be buffer work for the next switch in case of unforeseen hiccups but this time will also be used for print designs and other merchandise products.

• Point 4: I had a point but forgot it... I'll probably remember it 5 hours from now in the WEEEE hours of the morning and update this with it then. ;v; Lordy my memory...

• Point 5: With the site I'm using for printing the books, I've started adding borders onto the pages as I refine/update/upload them. In Dragon's Keep–since it's slightly "darker" than Reliquary is–black borders will be signifying the present while white borders signify flashbacks. Reliquary should mostly be white borders as it is a lighter story and is lacking in the flashback department (as of right now).

That should be all the notes for now on the subject. Hopefully I'll be back with a new page next week!

A Long Hiatus Coming To A Close

Howdy, readers! I'm sorry for the very very long span between updates. I assure you that every moment of it has pained me as much as it has pained y'all (which some of my SCAD classmates who know me and read this should remember from talking to me through this past quarter LOL). The good news is that if all goes according to plan, updates should start again next Saturday! (The 28th)

Starting from that update Dragon's Keep will update every other week. Having the schedule set up this way is both easier on me schedule-wise but also leaves room for other things (Like the Patreon I'm trying to set up for Dragon's Keep). On the weekends I DON'T update, I'm thinking of making those filler weekends. Leave me a comment with what you think and some themes :) I've also decided to take on a co-writer to help me strengthen DK's story and to fill in gaps that are sporadically placed throughout the future chapters/books. The person I've chosen to work with is Z, the writer and friend that I'm going to be starting Reliquary with in August. He will start assisting me once we finish Book 3.

As we near the end of this "chapter"–quotes around that because I'm going to be removing chapters and just making everything in "book" groups from here on–I'll be setting up the first book over on Lulu! I'm excited for this and will be looking into a kickstarter to see if I can't figure out funding so I can bulk-order some charms and prints and other goodies <3

Some of you might have noticed the two new buttons towards the top of the page. More will be added as I complete them and gather the necessary links. I find web buttons to be a neat concept and certainly help with accessibility between sites. As for the links: the one of Lu leads to my DA account, the bag icon leads to my currently-empty Easy shop, and the box icon (that should be up in a day or two) will lead to DK's secondary site called DragonBox. All of the character references will be moved over to Dragon's Box for viewing and storage and uploads and such.

I hope y'all are as excited about all this as I am and I look forward to seeing y'all around over the next couple of days!

Dragon's Patreon?

Howdy, readers! Lu here. As the first week of the new quarter comes to an end, I hope to be able to get back to making pages soon. This quarter's workload is lighter since I only have two classes and I'm almost caught up on art I owe. I want to finish up the detail work on previous pages before I start making new ones so everything can look all nice.

Anyways, the main reason for this news post is for me to ask y'all a question. I'm debating starting up a pattern account that would host extra Dragon's Keep doodles, namely ones that I call "Fun Facts" which would be small illustrations featuring one or two characters and illustrating a fun fact about their personalities. I'd only be making them of currently introduced characters so more would be added in later. My feeling is that this way, even when I'm not updating or even between updates y'all can still have something DK related out of me.

Being an art student and running a webcomic leaves very little spare time. Being an art student also requires money which I cannot get from a conventional job (due to the lack of free time). So what I'm wondering is what do y'all think? If I created a Patreon, would y'all sponsor me? Or if not y'all would y'all spread the word about it to other people that might?

Please leave your feedback! I'd love to hear what y'all have to say!

We All Live...

In a Pokémon World

I might post little doodles periodically during the week. I'm planning a Nuzlocke run of the new Pokémon games will Belle as the trainer in Ruby and Andrew as the trainer in Sapphire. I'm calling the Nuzlocke Dragon's Run ^^ The basic gist of the story is that Belle and Andrew get transported to the Pokémon world and everyone else gets turned into Pokémon.

I won't go into too many details, but I'm really looking forward to this! It'll be a side comic and will only be posted on my DeviantArt account but it won't start for a long while. ^^

If any of y'all read this, be sure to drop by if you can!

Tad Bit Late

Hey, readers! I know this makes a bad start to the return to updates, but I'm going to be a bit late. I only just started on the linework for the page. Prep for Thanksgiving and a surprise family trip to Dahlonega majorly cut into my work time. :/ It's my fault for not being on top of this so I hope you can forgive me.

One of these days I'll figure out this time-management stuff. See y'all in a bit!

Smackjeeves is giving me error messages when I try to upload the page. I'll get it up when I can but it might be a while. Just keep coming back to check :) I'm sorry for the inconvenience!
